Fashion faculty, Rossie Kadiyska, Vladimira Steffek, and design firm Artha Learning won a Hermes Gold Award at the Hermes Creative Awards for creative professionals. The Awards honor the messengers and creators of the information revolution. Each year, competition judges evaluate the creative industry’s best publications, branding collateral, websites, videos, and advertising, marketing, and communication programs. The competition is administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, one of the largest and oldest, third-party evaluators of creative work in the world.
The Award was given to the faculty and their partner for the Immersive Design Experience the team worked on following a grant from eCampus Ontario. This immersive experience is used in the classroom for teaching sustainable fashion through system design thinking and real, live, local cases. Those classroom experiences are taught in collaborative international and interdisciplinary settings. This past winter term Humber and Senac University students from fashion management, design, and public relations worked on delivering solutions for a Brazilian furniture company Dikta and Canadian home decor company WYRTH.
