The Fairway for All: Inclusive Golf Innovation Hackathon brought together creative minds to address the challenge of making municipal golf in Toronto more inclusive, accessible, and reflective of the city’s diverse population. Hosted by Thistle Golf and the Longo Centre for Entrepreneurship (Longo CfE), this multi-session event provided students with a platform to develop innovative solutions aimed at overcoming barriers such as affordability, cultural perceptions, and outreach.
Throughout the hackathon, participants engaged in a series of workshops, refining their ideas with mentorship from industry experts. The event will culminate in a Final Pitch Presentation, where teams will present their strategies to a panel of judges. Top-performing teams will be awarded cash prizes of $525, recognizing their innovative contributions to the future of golf.
The success of the hackathon was made possible through the collaboration of key partners, including Experience Ventures, Thistle Golf, and the City of Toronto. Their support empowered students to think critically about accessibility and inclusivity in the sport, fostering ideas with the potential to create meaningful change.
As the event concludes, organizers and participants alike look forward to seeing these innovative ideas come to life, inspiring a more inclusive future for Toronto’s municipal golf system. The Fairway for All hackathon stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and creative problem-solving in driving social impact.
