Digital Business Student Association Helps Host Guest Speakers

Thanks to the Digital Business Student Association for the support organizing three successful Guest Speaking Events in collaboration with the BUS 1500 Business Information Systems and FASH 4500 e-Retailing classes. Special thanks to the Events Team: Mackenzie Klin, Sameha Dahir, Shray Shrotriya, and Sunny Chopra for taking care of production, hosting, and social media promotions, and for opening all threeevents to the Humber community and the public.


Web Development

Margaret Reffell, CEO & founder at Bspoke Media met our FASH 4500 e-Retailing class on Clubhouse on Monday Sept 20, 2021 to discuss Developing a Website for a Small Business. Marg shared her experience, tips and best practices on managing a web development project, walked us through the four stages of the process: Discovery, Design, Development & Testing, Deployment & Training, and shared lessons learned based on her experience with clients. The event was hosted by Mackenzie Klin, Sameha Dahir, and Sunny Chopra.

Blogging & SEO

Thomas Durham, graduate of the Digital Business Management BComm program and founder of Mango Digital, met our FASH 4500 e-Retailing class on Instagram Live on Monday Sept 27, 2021 to discuss Blogging & SEO for Small Businesses. Thomas shared his expertise, tips and best practices on the importance of blogging for SEO, and how to best optimize your blog posts for search engines. The event was hosted by Mackenzie Klin and Sunny Chopra.

Mastering Virtual Events

EventMobi delivered a session on Mastering Virtual Events to our BUS 1500 Business Information Systems class on Wednesday Sept 29, 2021, presented by Chrissy Gow, Head of Content Marketing, Catrina Franzoi, Marketing Events Planner, and Tyler Cake, Customer Training Lead. Chrissy, Catrina, and Tyler discussed the different types of virtual events, Software solutions and engagement tools for specific event types, as well as content production best practices.
