On November 21st Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Centre Manager, Antoniette Di Marco had the pleasure of conducting a scheduled site visit for co-op students hosted at the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
The partnership between the Longo Faculty of Business and the CRA continues to strengthen as they have regularly hosted Humber co-op students since winter 2018. After the co-op term, students are hired on a part-time basis when they return to school and then often offered full-time employment upon graduation.
This semester eight students from the Business Administration and the Business Accounting programs completing their co-op with CRA. While on assignment at the CRA, students were entrusted with their own portfolio of tax-payers and quotas to meet. CRA provides an excellent WIL experience whereby students are improving their communication, research, negotiation, critical thinking, analytical interpersonal and technical skills.
The feedback from students and CRA supervisors were very positive. It is always a proud moment to witness how well students do in a professional setting. Congratulations to you all for your contributions in preparing students for the workplace.
