Black Excellence in the Business of Fashion

On November 10th, four alumni hosted a webinar on the topic of "Black Excellence in the Business of Fashion”.

Moderated by TJX Store Associate, Tiffany Forde, the panel featured Gucci Team Manager, Rebecca Basson, Zvelle Operations and Showroom Manager, Mabel Agyem and, Adidas Account Coordinator, Justin Bara.

The panel discussed important topics such as representation within the fashion industry, code-switching, and industry changes that have happened as well as those that still need to happen for young Black professionals to succeed in the fashion industry.

The event was well attended. One of the students in attendance commented with the following, “I attended the Black Excellence panel and it was cool, especially for someone like myself who had similar experiences doing internships or working in the industry in general. So I appreciate that Humber was able to bring good representation for other young black individuals”.

The event was organized and facilitated by Tiffany Forde and the Associate Dean of Business Marketing, Fashion & Beauty, Bruce Sinclair, with generous support from the Digital Business Management Program Coordinator Hanadi Alnawab.
