ACCA Accredits Accounting Programs at Humber

Humber's Longo Faculty of Business Accounting programs were newly accredited with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Although the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is the only recognized professional accounting credential in Canada, the ACCA program is well known and has merit within the accounting profession. The ACCA credential is a global accountancy qualification recognized in many countries and will have particular appeal to international students.

Accounting program graduates can enroll with ACCA and apply for academic exemptions as follows:

  1. 2-year accounting diploma: 3 papers (Applied Knowledge)
  2. 3-year accounting advanced diploma: 6 papers (Applied Knowledge + 3 of 6 papers for Applied Skills)
  3. Professional Accounting Practice Post Graduate Certificate: 9 papers (Applied Knowledge & Applied Skills)

The ACCA qualification requires completion of the 9 papers described above including additional academic requirements taken through the Institute and 3 years of practical work experience within a relevant role. To find out what exemptions are available, click here.
