Tell us about yourself.
I have over ten years of experience in professional development, working in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors in Canada and internationally. I consider myself a lifelong learner with a diverse educational background. I earned a Master's in Business Administration, a Master’s in Global Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. My academic achievements, professional experience and my passion for education have allowed me to support students.
I love music and nature. A fun fact is that I used to sing at weddings, musicals, church, and other musical venues. I am also always excited to go for a nice hike and explore new trails.
Why is networking so important and what advice/tips would you give students to make meaningful connections with employers?
Networking is a critical component in a professional setting. Meeting experts in the field and generating connections that could result in partnerships, job opportunities, and professional and personal support is vital to enriching everyone’s careers. Reach out to professionals in the field of your interest and do not ask for a job. Value their knowledge and experience and do not let the relationship run stagnant. A quick check-in email or message can go a long way!
The WIL Team supports students and employer partners in their Work-Integrated Learning journey. Committed, dedicated and professional, they are key contributors to Humber’s Strategic Plan, preparing career-ready citizens and establishing strong, sustainable collaborations with industry, community, international and alumni partners.
