 Full Circle Back to Humber

Selina Andrello is a true inspiration. She practices personal injury law where she is dedicated to helping individuals during times of need, working with them as they overcome adversities and rebuild their futures.

She also works closely with the injured person’s family members and rehabilitation specialists to ensure that each of her clients receives the best medical care possible. In her spare time, Selina volunteers with SickKids Foundation and acts as the Corporate Secretary of the Ontario Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division Executive. And if all of that wasn’t enough, she has even found the time to establish her own charitable event, “Dodging for Dollars” to raise money for SickKids Foundation.

Before becoming a personal injury lawyer at McLeish Orlando LLP, Selina earned an Honours Degree in Political Science from Wilfrid Laurier. With degree in hand she plotted a course towards gaining practical, hands-on experience in the legal field. This led her to the Paralegal Education diploma program at Humber. She graduated in 2009 with an Academic Award of Excellence and as such landed a position as a Paralegal with the Department of Justice, followed by a position as a litigation assistant within a large Bay St. firm. This experience and exposure inspired her to further her education. In 2010 she was accepted into law school at the University of Windsor. Always a high achiever, Selina held a number of appointed positions while at Windsor, including acting as the student representative on the Academic Planning and Law Reform Committees, Faculty Council (two terms) and was the Founder and Chair of the Law Students’ Articling Working Group. She was the recipient of a number of student awards for her academic achievements and demonstrated leadership in the law school community. Selina graduated from the University of Windsor in 2013 and finished in the top 10% of her graduating class.

She attributes part of her success to her start at Humber. Wanting to give back to the community that helped her, Selina now teaches in the Law Clerk diploma program at The Business School at Humber. Her experience lends itself to perfectly to what she teaches, the practices and procedures of civil litigation. She can also relate to the aspiring Humber law students as she helps guide them towards their own career success, as her professors did with her.
