In its inaugural year, the Insurance Management Ontario Graduate Certificate program saw tremendous success with a very dedicated first cohort of students.
For those that don’t know, the IMPG prepares students for a variety of entry level management career paths in the large and growing property and casualty insurance industry. Students can pursue careers in underwriting, claims, sales and others.
Like all of the many programs at the Business School, the IMPG program is very demanding and requires students to complete not only Humber exams, but seven separate exams towards the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation. Students in last year’s program achieved higher CIP pass ratios than the overall national college average!
In addition, 95% of IMPG students in the program landed industry placement roles, with many of them landing full-time positions at best in-class companies such as All-State, Aviva, Northbridge Insurance, Wawanesa Insurance, Crawford Independent Adjusters and Desjardins.
The IMPG program success can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of Peter Madott, and a very committed and passionate faculty that includes Annette Palalas, Jason Mancini, Susan Kates, Troy Bynoe, Kelly Hopkins, John McNeil, Bill White and Patricia Cooper.
In its second year, the IMPG program looks to build on its achievements of 2017/2018 with an exciting group of students that are enrolled in the program.
