Paralegal Networking Breakfast at Lakeshore Campus

On March 9th, The Business School’s Placement Centre, in collaboration with the Bachelor of Applied Arts – Paralegal Studies program, hosted a networking event for the Paralegal Degree students to connect with professionals and market their legal skills.

Modelled after the “speed dating” process, this networking event provided students, in small groups the opportunity to interact with professionals for ten minutes and discuss the numerous possibilities available to them. The professionals who attended this event work in a variety of areas in the legal field.

Noteworthy Paralegal, Elaine Page, owner of Page Paralegal and PREP Network, as well as the recipient of the Distinguished Paralegal Award in 2013 was the guest speaker.

Elaine gave an exciting speech regarding Justice Bonkalo’s Report on Family Legal Services and the potential new opportunities for paralegals in the field of Family Law. Additionally, she drew on her own experiences to emphasize the value of being open to new opportunities and the importance of developing both professionally and personally.

A special thanks to the following employers who participated in the success of this year’s event:

  • Legal Aid Ontario
  • Legal Line
  • Robert Half Legal
