The HBC (Hudson’s Bay Company) Lunch & Learn took place on September 15, 2016, in L 1017 at Humber Lakeshore Campus. The Placement Centre worked alongside Humber Career Services to host Natalie and Chelsea from Hudson’s Bay Careers as they delivered a well-developed info-session on career prospects with HBC’s Executive Training Programs. Natalie began the session with a brief overview of HBC and their expansive portfolio which included Hudson’s Bay and Saks Fifth Avenue. Following the overview, Natalie and Chelsea gave attendees an in-depth explanation of the two trainee programs: Store Operations & Merchandising.
Students were shown examples of potential career paths demonstrating the rise from a Trainee to a General Manager if they followed the Store Operations path or to a Buyer/Planner if they followed the Merchandising path. Intake for the trainee programs occurs in January with up to 6 positions available.The students had a number of questions about the two roles and the other opportunities available at HBC. Natalie and Chelsea also shared their personal career paths with the students.The event ended with lunch being served and Allison Scully and Mary Cantisano giving a word of thanks to the recruiters from HBC.
