From April 19-22nd, Humber degree students from the Humber DECA-U chapter attended the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Anaheim, California. The Humber DECA-U chapter was led by co-presidents Max Beacock and Noel D'souza. There, the chapter competed in several competitions and were awarded three medals for their efforts. The students in attendance came from a diverse academic background and represented Humber degree programs such as Accounting, International Business, Creative Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations.
At ICDC, Accounting student, Laura Ingram, did very well, earning both the top test score and top 10 finalist placement in the Retail Management category. Sergiy Fomin and Maria Plazas also did very well, placing in third place in the International Marketing category.
This past year, the Humber DECA chapter has competed quite successfully in several competitions, such as the Ryerson University Invitational, the Carleton University Invitational, the McMaster University Invitational and the DECA-U Provincial Competition.
The ICDC is the culmination of the DECA year.
