Program Overview
Developed originally with the Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB) and industry professionals, Humber’s Business Management – Financial Services diploma program is the only one of its kind in Ontario. Through our up-to-date and relevant curriculum, you’ll become well-versed in all aspects of banking, investments, insurance and personal financial planning. You’ll also build essential business skills through a field experience and courses in interpersonal communications, business writing and professional selling.
As a graduate, you’ll be able to help individuals with everything from banking, consumer credit and life insurance to personal financial planning.
For students starting in September or January, there is a scheduled one semester break between second and third semesters.
Work-Integrated Learning
A 150-hour (minimum) will give you valuable practical industry skills and preparation for employment. You’ll find your own field experience under the guidance of the program co-ordinator and will learn effective job search skills.

Summer Abroad
Students in this program may be eligible for a credit through Summer Abroad in Croatia, Denmark, Finland, India, Japan, New Zealand, Peru or Vietnam.
Placement Abroad
Students have the opportunity to complete program work placements in Canada or abroad. Students may also be eligible to receive a bursary from Humber.

Your career in Canada’s active financial services sector can take many different paths including as a personal banking officer with a bank, an investment advisor or broker’s assistant with an investment brokerage, a financial advisor with an insurance firm, or a personal financial planner with a financial planning firm.

Certification Opportunities
Specific courses of this program may be recognized for additional industry recognition with Professional Financial Planning (PFP), Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
Canadian Securities Course (CSC®) and Harmonized Life License Qualification Program (HLLQP)
The program helps to prepare students to write the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Harmonized Life License Qualification Program (HLLQP) exams.

Note: The requirements for the additional credential(s) are determined by the granting body, which is independent from the College. Students are encouraged to obtain the specific requirements directly from the granting body before enrolling.
