Harry D. Fine, a retired Paralegal Education diploma teacher, was awarded the William J. Simpson Distinguished Paralegal Award. The William J. Simpson Award is given out by The Law Society of Ontario. Members of Ontario’s legal professions are recognized for their exceptional career achievements and contributions to their communities at the annual Law Society Awards ceremony at Osgoode Hall.

Licensed in 2008, Harry served as an adjudicator at the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal. At the end of his term, he opened a private practice providing legal services as a paralegal. He has taught a variety of paralegal courses at various community colleges and has served as a director of both the Paralegal Society of Ontario and the Ontario Paralegal Association. He has also volunteered as president of the Landlord's Self-Help Centre.

At Humber, Harry taught as a partial load faculty member from Summer 2012 to Summer 2017. Harry supported thousands of students in their studies through his teaching and sharing of his experience as an adjudicator in his private practice. Harry focused on teaching students the skills they needed to transition from Humber to practicing as a professional paralegal.
