The goal of the course is to provide an appreciation of the essential elements and strategic importance of the human resource (HR) planning process in an organization. Students are challenged with the issues of changing demographics, rightsizing, technological change, international human resources management, corporate repositioning, cost containment and productivity improvement. They will examine the functions of analyzing, assessing and planning for the human resource requirements of organizational, business and strategic plans. Both quantitative and qualitative concepts, approaches and techniques are explored. There will be a focus on aligning HR strategies with business strategies in order to contribute to organizational effectiveness.
