This course will distinguish the various roles and functions of a retail buyer within the context of a merchandise plan. Course topics will include how to manage inventory and profitability, how to plan assortments and how to negotiate the purchase of apparel/accessories/cosmetics/fragrances. This course will examine the various options for retailing, with particular emphasis placed on product positioning, multi-channel retailing and the impact of consumer behaviour and services.
