This course will introduce students to the spa industry and provide knowledge of the historical significance of spas as well as what the future holds for this rapidly growing industry. Topics include spa architecture and design, brand recognition, marketing tools to represent a spa to clients, purchasing products, infection prevention and control best practices for personal service settings, equipment and communication systems designed specifically for spas. There is a focus on good business practices, such as client management, ethics and employee relations.
