Work Towards Your Designation On Your Time
The Business School offers part-time accredited courses that are recognized by various governing bodies – including the CGA, CPSA, HRPAO and the CSIC. Our accredited courses maintain a standard that allows you to work towards earning your professional designation.
Upon successful completion of accredited courses you may apply to the body to receive your designation. Most governing bodies have memberships and examination processes to complete prior to receiving the designation.
Certified in Management (C.I.M.)
This certificate grants you a Certificate in Management or C.I.M. designation. The C.I.M. program
is a rich and diversified selections of courses designed to challenge and enhance
your management skills.
Certificate in Financial Planning (CFP)
This certificate grants you a Certificate in Financial Planning (CFP). This four-course program entitles you to write the CFP professional proficiency exam after completing two years
of practical experience.
Immigration Consultant (CSIC)
The Immigration Consultant Certificate program is an accredited certificate program
of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (the CSIC).
This certificate grants you a CSIC designation.
Certified General Accountants (CGA)
Accounting Certificate
Take you first steps towards accreditation with the Certified General Accountants Association. Four of our compulsory courses in this program act as transferable credits toward
CGA certification.
Advanced Accounting Certificate
At completion of the Accounting and Advanced Accounting Certificate you will have achieved
a maximum of 13 of the transferable courses towards the 19-credit program required for
CGA certification.
The IT Accounting Certificate
The successful completion of this postgraduate certificate will allow you to register with
the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) to earn your Bachelor of Applied Business Administration Degree where you can continue your studies toward a CGA designation
by completing two additional CGA courses upon graduation injunction with the required
work experience.
Exam Preparation
Securities Licensing (Canadian Securities Institute)
Prepare to write your Securities licensing exam. CSI 1 and 2 will assist you in preparing for investment and/or financial planning careers in the financial services industry. Canadian Securities Exam Preparation will prepare you for Exam 2. On completion of each course,
you will be eligible to sit in an examination set by the CSI ® for licensing purposes.
NKE Workshop (HRPAO)
This workshop prepares or qualifies you to write your NKE exam.
The National Knowledge Exam™ (NKE) consists of 150 multiple-choice questions.
Upon successful completion you can use the title "CHRP Candidate".
Professional Practice Assessment (PPA) Workshop (HRPAO)
This workshop prepares or qualifies you to write your PPA. Upon successful completion
you are granted your CHRP designation, renewable every 3 years.
