2-Year Accounting

A solid foundation in accounting procedures and theory plus an 84-hour work placement gives students opportunity to start their career quickly.

 

PATHWAY 1

Second semester students who achieve a 70 per cent average in 2-year accounting program may be eligible for the 3-year advanced diploma that includes the option to do a co-op work term.

Degree Ready

Students may choose to complete their degree at Humber or at another university. Find out more about admission and advanced standings.

Professional Accreditation
CMA, CA, CGA

Many of Humber's accounting courses are recognized by accounting associations that provide accreditation. Credits earned in these programs can be used towards courses within these association in order to earn designation as a CMA, CA or CGA. Applicants and students are advised to review each of the accounting associations’ requirements and standards carefully in order to ensure a full and complete understanding of current requirements.

PATHWAY 2

Credits obtained in this diploma program could be transferred straight into year two of Humber’s 4-Year Bachelor of Commerce - Accounting program. This pathway helps students complete their degree as quickly as possible.

Professional Accreditation
CMA, CA, CGA

Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting meets the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario (ICAO) course requirements, and qualifies graduates to write the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) of Ontario entrance examination. The Certified General Accountants (CGA) of Ontario requires graduates of Humber’s Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting to enrol in additional CGA-specific courses as part of their membership requirements. The Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting program prepares students for professional accreditation and career advancement. However, all professional accounting associations have additional requirements for membership beyond holding a degree.
