An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older (21 or older for degree programs) as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet program eligibility. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U level or equivalent.
An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber will use your college courses and grades to determine program eligibility. You may also be eligible for transfer credit if you are admitted to a Humber program.

Graduates of any two-year diploma program at Humber who have attained a cumulative grade point average of 70% or greater will be eligible to enter year three of the 4-yr Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) at the University of New Brunswick. Depending on the diploma program, students may be exempted from study in certain courses and therefore, requested to take alternate courses offered by the Faculty of Business.

Humber’s Esthetician/Spa Management diploma program gives you the business management and vocational skills you need for a career in the $94 billion industry (Global Spa Industry, 2015). On the business side, learn the fundamentals of business writing, marketing, retail operation and day-to-day spa management. Hands-on courses focus on traditional services such as nail care technologies, advanced facial techniques, waxing, body treatments and makeup applications. As well, you will learn advanced medical esthetic services such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, laser and Intense Pulse Light (IPL).
At Humber, you will practise what you are learning and improve your skills at The Humber Spa, a full-service classroom and retail boutique open to the public. Working under the guidance of qualified lab technicians, you will manage the administrative functions of the spa, including front line responsibilities, retail operations and providing spa services. You will provide facials, hand and foot care, and body treatments to clientele.
As a graduate, you will be qualified to start your own spa business, apply for positions that require practical experience and have a range of knowledge in traditional and medical spa treatments.
In the first semester, students will be introduced to spa management and client services, physiology of the skin, professional skin care, and begin to train in traditional esthetic services. In second semester, students study advanced facial techniques, waxing services, nail care and computer applications. In the third semester, students study marketing, cosmetic applications,finance, medical spa services and hands-on experience in the practical lab classes. In the final semester, students learn about retail operations, human resource management, small business management and gain hands-on experience at The Humber Spa.Courses Program Standards
Two work placements offer students experience working with clients. This placement will be onsite at The Humber Spa.

Business courses prepare you for the operations aspect of this industry.
