Mature Applicants

An applicant is considered a mature applicant if they have not completed secondary school or other postsecondary school, and will be 19 or older (21 or older for degree programs) as of the first day of classes. Humber will invite you for testing to demonstrate that you meet program eligibility. Mature applicants for degree programs will be required to meet course requirements at the U level or equivalent.

College Transfer Applicants

An applicant is considered a college transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a college-level credential. Humber will use your college courses and grades to determine program eligibility. You may also be eligible for transfer credit if you are admitted to a Humber program.

University Transfer Applicants

An applicant is considered a university transfer applicant if they have completed some or all of a university-level credential. Humber will use your university courses and grades to determine program eligibility. You may also be eligible for transfer credit if you are admitted to a Humber program.

Additional Costs

Students selecting either the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and/or the Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC) will be required to pay an additional registration fee to the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) for these courses. Current fees are approximately $600 – $1,100 per course, and are subject to change without notice by the CSI.

Humber graduates with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent or more may be considered for admission. Graduates may then complete the degree with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus a paid work term. Successful applicants must also possess:

  • ENG4U or Humber’s WRIT 100 or 200 level course, or equivalent, with a grade of 65 per cent.
  • Any Grade 12U-level Mathematics with a minimum grade of 60 per cent , or Humber's BMTH 120 and BSTA 200 with an average of 60 per cent
  • Completion of ACCT 2500 Intermediate Financial Accounting 1 or Equivalent with a Minimum Grade of 60%.  Please contact the admission office for more details.

Future Study Options

Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Management (Level 7) leading to Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Administrative Management (Level 8)

Business Administration Diploma graduates will complete 2 semesters in Ireland to complete the Ordinary Bachelor degree (Level 7) and a further 2 semesters to complete the Honours Bachelor degree (Level 8). Typically semesters in the Letterkenny Institute of Technology operate Sep – mid-Jan and late-Jan – May. Graduates of the Level 8 programme are eligible to progress to the one-year Masters in Marketing Practice.

Bachelor of Business (Hons) Level 8

Business Administration Diploma Graduates will be awarded a Bachelor of Business (Honours) Degree  (Level 8) on successful completion of 4 semesters of study at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LIT) - Thurles Campus.


Semesters typically operate in LIT (Thurles Campus) from Sept to Dec and Jan to May. Therefore, the end-to-end period of study for Humber students who successfully complete all assessment requirements in LIT would be approximately 9 months including 15 weeks of vacation (summer vacation from 1 Jun to 1 Sep).

Bachelor of Business Administration

Business Administration Diploma graduates will have the opportunity to complete either 2 semesters or 4 semesters.  On the successful completion of 2 semesters students will be awarded an Ordinary Level degree.  The student has an option to progress to an Honours Bachelor degree in Business Administration which will take a further 2 semesters. Typically semesters in IT Sligo operate Sep-Jan and Feb-Jun. Therefore, the end-to-end period of study for Business Administration students who pass all examinations in IT Sligo would be approximately 20 months including 12 weeks of summer vacation covering 20-Jun to 1-Sep each year.

Our Program

Humber’s Business Administration advanced diploma program allows you to develop extensive knowledge on how businesses work and teaches you to become competent at the full range of skills needed to facilitate business operations.

Courses in operations management, accounting, human resources management, marketing research and much more will give you the opportunity to cultivate key business skills such as communication, teamwork, project management and strategic business analysis. This program is built on a common platform of a solid business education – principles of management, marketing, business law, finance mathematics and microeconomics. This common platform is shared with other business diploma programs in year one and is expanded on in year two.

Courses Program Standards

Work Placement

You’ll be assisted in finding a paid or unpaid business work placement where you’ll practise your skills during an 84-hour assignment. This adds valuable hands-on experience to your resumé. Close relationships with the business professionals who constantly update the curriculum will give you valuable networking contacts.

The Humber Experience

Vanier BDC Case Challenge 2017

As an opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge and training to a true to life business experience, students have the opportunity to participate in the annual Vanier College Case Challenge.  This inter-collegial business/marketing case competition involves colleges from across Canada in an intense  2 day event where students have limited time to analyze and develop a full case analysis and then present to a panel of judges and an audience of peers and rivals.
