To be eligible for admission, you must possess the following:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent including these required courses:
    • Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
    • Grade 12 Mathematics (MAP4C, MCT4C, MDM4U, MCB4U, MGA4U, MCV4U or MHF4U) or Grade 11 U or M Mathematics (MCR3U or MCF3M)
    • Two Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U courses in addition to those listed above

All applicants whose first language is not English must meet Humber’s English Language Proficiency Policy.

The 2016/2017 fee for two semesters was:

  • domestic $3,972.78
  • international $14,200.

Amounts listed were the total of tuition, lab and material fees, student service and auxiliary fees for the first two semesters of the 2016/2017 academic year. Fees are subject to change.

Additional Costs

Students selecting either the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and/or the Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC) will be required to pay an additional registration fee to the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) for these courses. Current fees are approximately $600 – $1,100 per course, and are subject to change without notice by the CSI.

Accounting, Bachelor of Commerce 

Humber graduates with an overall grade point average (GPA) of 65 per cent or more may be considered for admission. Graduates may then complete the degree with the equivalent of four semesters of full-time study plus a paid work term. Successful applicants must also possess:

  • ENG4U or Humber’s WRIT 100 or 200 level course, or equivalent, with a grade of 65 per cent.
  • Any Grade 12U-level Mathematics with a minimum grade of 60 per cent , or Humber's BMTH 120 and BSTA 200 with an average of 60 per cent.  Additional Math courses may also be required before starting the degree. Please consult with your Program Coordinator for more details.

Bishop's University invites graduates of Humber's Business Administration Advanced Diploma to apply for advanced credit towards a Bachelor of Business Administration provided students have earned a GPA of 70% or greater.  A total of 45 credits towards a 120-credit program may be granted.  No credits will be awarded in the case of incomplete programs or if the GPA is under 70%.

Our Program

Humber’s Business Administration advanced diploma program allows you to develop extensive knowledge on how businesses work and teaches you to become competent at the full range of skills needed to facilitate business operations.

Courses in operations management, accounting, human resources management, marketing research and much more will give you the opportunity to cultivate key business skills such as communication, teamwork, project management and strategic business analysis. This program is built on a common platform of a solid business education – principles of management, marketing, business law, finance mathematics and microeconomics. This common platform is shared with other business diploma programs in year one and is expanded on in year two.

Work Placement

You’ll be assisted in finding a paid or unpaid business work placement where you’ll practise your skills during an 84-hour assignment. This adds valuable hands-on experience to your resumé. Close relationships with the business professionals who constantly update the curriculum will give you valuable networking contacts.

Our core business diploma programs provide first year students with an understanding of the fundamental business disciplines. Second year provides the specialized framework to launch your career through your specialization.

Your Career

With your diploma in Business Administration, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills to pursue a variety of potential career paths in business including management finance, human resources, marketing and international business administration. Among the roles you’ll be qualified to apply for are marketing researcher, merchandising manager, product manager, budget analyst, sales representative, financial planner, office manager, human resources administrator, advertising account co-ordinator and event planner.

Professional Accreditation, Endorsement and Recognition

The program can prepare you to pursue industry designations and professional certifications in addition to your diploma including those from the Canadian Institute of Management, the Canadian Professional Sales Association and the Canadian Securities Institute. The industry designations/certifications may require further courses, additional exams, related work experience and additional fees to qualify.
