A Canadian First. e-Business Marketing

A Canadian First.
e-Business Marketing.

Humber's e-Business Marketing degree offers a balance of theory and practical learning integrating marketing, business and e-business.

The business world has changed dramatically over the last decade with a tremendous shift to web-based applications. While keeping up with the changes can be a daunting task, the first graduates of Humber's bachelor's degree in e-Business Marketing don't have to worry about being current. The program is the first of its kind in Canada.

Atiya Roach, alumnus of the e-Business Marketing program, is putting her skills to use as an account executive in the Fundraising Services Department at the Cornerstone Group of Companies in Toronto. Roach develops web applications used by charities for online fundraising and provides them with training support, as well as other web-based initiatives and their analytics.

"Business has always been an interest of mine," says Roach. "Humber's e-Business Marketing degree appealed to me because it offered a balance of theory and practical learning. I liked the way the program integrated marketing with e-business concepts while still teaching traditional business subjects. I learned how to develop e-business marketing plans, use project management tools, analyze e-business financial issues and lots more."

Since starting at Cornerstone, Roach has worked to build web applications for many large and small Canadian charitable organizations.

"We are very pleased with Atiya's contribution to Cornerstone," says Karen Webber, account director at Cornerstone. "She came in prepared and hit the ground running."
