This is an introductory course which provides an overall understanding of training and development (T&D) as a key managerial activity. In addition, the course demonstrates how T&D may be used to improve individual and group performance and organizational effectiveness. Students are introduced to current issues surrounding T&D and develop an understanding of the major elements of T&D, including needs analysis, program design, training methods and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of an organization's T&D initiatives.
