Redesigned to Meet New ICCRC Requirements!

Humber's Immigration Consultant certificate is an accredited program governed by the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC), an independent, self-regulating body for immigration consultants in Canada. Anyone wishing to legally act as an immigration consultant must become a licensed member of ICCRC. The program concentrates on areas of ethics, immigration, refugee law and procedures required for licensing with ICCRC. 

Students are responsible for meeting all ICCRC requirements.

Admission Requirements

To qualify for the Immigration Consultant certificate program, students must meet one of the three following criteria:

1. A Canadian two- or three-year Ontario/provincial college diploma or university degree

  • Copy of degree or diploma
  • Copy of official transcripts
  • Humber College Student ID # (please contact registration at 416-675-3111 to request student ID)

2. International diploma or degree that is equivalent to a provincial college diploma or university degree

  • Copy of degree or diploma
  • Copy of official transcripts
  • Copy of Canadian assessment evaluation (World Education Services or University of Toronto)
  • Language Requirement - IELTS (Academic) with an minimum score of 6.5 for speaking, listening, writing and reading or CAEL with an overall band score of 60
  • Humber College Student ID # (please contact registration at 416-675-3111 to request student ID)

3. Experience (minimum of two years' full-time relevant Canadian immigration experience. For example, completing and processing the necessary client documentation for application to immigrate to Canada for said client.)

  • A copy of your resume
  • A copy of a letter of reference from your employer indicating experience
  • Language Requirement - IELTS (Academic) with an minimum score of 6.5 for speaking, listening, writing and reading or CAEL with an overall band score of 60
  • Humber College Student ID # (please contact registration at 416-675-3111 to request student ID)

Application Process

Students must provide the application, including all necessary admission requirements and student number to The Business School prior to registering in courses through email, fax or in-person.

This is a part-time program and you will need to register directly though Humber College (this program is not found on OCAS).

Additional Information

  • IELTS testing is available at Humber College, please visit the Humber IELTS Test Centre for more information and to register for a test at www.humber.ca/ielts
  • COMM 101 Effective Business Writing is required during your first semester of the program.
  • Students wishing to be licensed as an Immigration Consultant must be a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Registered (Status) Indian within the meaning of the Indian Act (Canada).

Paralegal Graduates Could Receive Credit!

Students who have graduated with a minimum 70% average in Legal Research and Business Planning from a 2-Year Full-Time Paralegal Program approved by the LSUC may apply for a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) towards credits for two of the Immigration Consultant Certificate courses. The PLAR process for these two courses includes a challenge evaluation in the form of assignments to bridge the gap between paralegal and Immigration courses that are taught from a strictly Immigration perspective.
