Ted Glenn is the Program Coordinator of the Public Administration postgraduate program at Humber.
The Public Administration program offers advanced training for people looking to work in the public service - one of the most challenging, rewarding and in-demand sectors of the Canadian economy. The program is vocationally-oriented, providing students with the practical skills, knowledge, and experience needed to gain employment with federal, provincial, and municipal governments as well as with organizations in the broader public sector like colleges, universities and hospitals.
Ted brings a blend of academic credentials and professional experience to the program. He received his B.A. in Political Science from the University of Alberta and M.A. in Public Policy and Law from the University of Calgary. Ted completed his Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Queen’s University.
Following graduation, Ted worked as a Senior Advisor on a federal Commission of Inquiry, a Research Officer with Ontario’s Legislative Research Service, a Policy Advisor with Ontario’s Cabinet Office, and a Senior Analyst with Ontario’s Management Board Secretariat.
After almost ten years in the field, Ted joined Humber College as Professor and Program Coordinator of the Public Administration program. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Ted sees his role as a liaison between students and faculty, making sure the former have mastered the skills employers say they need to succeed after graduation and ensuring that faculty have the support they need to do what they do best: helping students achieve their career goals through hands-on, practical education, coaching and mentorship.
Ted is also a published author, having written a book and numerous articles on legislative operations and executive decision-making. He is a Vice-President of the Canadian Association of Programs in Public Administration (CAPPA), an association of schools, programs, and departments across Canada engaged in teaching and research in public administration.
